- RIL to acquire control in Network 18 for Rs 4,000 crore: Reliance Industries will take control of popular television news channels CNN-IBN, IBN7, CNBC-TV18 and Lokmat, and an entire clutch of ETV channels with a massive infusion of Rs. 4,000 crore into Network 18 Media and TV18 Broadcast Ltd.
- Government abolishes all GoMs and EGoMs for greater accountability and empowerment: In a major move to empower the Ministries and Departments, the Prime Minister today decided to abolish all the existing nine Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoMs) and twenty-one Groups of Ministers (GoMs). This would expedite the process of decision making and usher in greater accountability in the system. 

- “Say No To Tobacco” - PM’s message on 'World No Tobacco Day':  The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has appealed to the people of India to “Say No To Tobacco”. The Prime Minister tweeted: “On World No Tobacco Day, lets pledge to spread awareness on the risks of tobacco consumption & work to reduce tobacco consumption in India. 
- Telangana to be 29th state as President's rule to be revoked: In a historic event marking culmination of the long-drawn-out process of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao will assume the office as first Chief Minister of Telangana which becomes 29th state of the country on Monday.  
- Camel is new state animal of rajasthan as per decision by rajashtan government on 30th June 2014.

RAS Exam New Pattern, Syllabus, Date 2014, Old Papers

RAS Exam New Pattern, Syllabus: Rajasthan Govt. approve the new pattern for RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Services) and Allied service Examination from 2013 onwards as per Circular issued by Department of Personnel(DoP), Government of Rajasthan. RAS New pattern will have special emphasis on Rajasthan Culture and Literature. Rajasthan Govt. approve the changes in RAS Examination rules 1999 to attract more brains from market in services. This rules will be applicable from RAS Exam 2013. As per new pattern now RAS Pre Exam will have a single common paper of 200 Marks based on General Knowledge and General Science with 3 Hour duration. RAS Mains exam will have Four Paper each Paper with 200 Marks. RAS Mains will have four paper each with 200 Marks. Three paper will be based on General Knowledge including rajasthan history, Geography, economics, Current affairs, Rajasthan, Language and other GK Quiz. Fourth Paper will be based on Language i.e. Hindi, English, Rajasthani.

RAS PRE NEW PATTERN:  RAS PRE will have SINGLE OBJECTIVE Type Paper of 200 Marks instead of two papers in old pattern. Now all candidates will have single paper, No need to go for subjective paper. RAS Pre paper will be based on India GK, Rajasthan GK, World GK and General Science.

राजस्थान प्रशासनिक सेवा (आरएएस) की प्रारंभिक परीक्षा PATTERN: 

राजस्थान प्रशासनिक सेवा (आरएएस) की प्रारंभिक परीक्षा में अब 200 अंकों का एक ही वस्तुनिष्ठ प्रश्न पत्र होगा। पहले दो पेपर होते थे। यह निर्णय 2013 से आयोजित होने वाली परीक्षा से लागू होगा। राज्य मंत्रिमंडल ने बुधवार को राजस्थान राज्य और अधीनस्थ सेवाएं (संयुक्त प्रतियोगी परीक्षा द्वारा सीधी भर्ती), नियम 1999 में संशोधन पर सहमति दे दी है। प्रारंभिक परीक्षा में भारत और राजस्थान का सामान्य ज्ञान, सामान्य विज्ञान और मानसिक योग्यता से संबंधित प्रश्न होंगे। पहले इसमें एक सामान्य ज्ञान और एक ऑप्शनल सब्जेक्ट का पेपर होता था। इस परीक्षा के अंक चयन के लिए कुल अंकों में नहीं जोड़े जाएंगे। इसके साथ ही कुल रिक्तियों के 15 गुना तक अभ्यर्थियों को मुख्य परीक्षा में बैठने का अवसर भी मिलेगा।

PAPER-2: General Knowledge and General Studies-II
PAPER-3: General Knowledge and General Studies-III

राजस्थान प्रशासनिक सेवा (आरएएस) की मुख्य परीक्षा PATTERN:  राजस्थान प्रशासनिक सेवा (आरएएस) की मुख्य परीक्षा में 200-200 अंकों के चार प्रश्न पत्र होंगे। इसमें तीन प्रश्नपत्र सामान्य ज्ञान एवं सामान्य अध्ययन के और चौथा प्रश्न पत्र हिंदी और अंग्रेजी भाषागत ज्ञान का होगा। पहले आठ पेपर होते थे।

Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test (RPET 2014) Examination Notification is issued by Board of Technical Education, Jodhpur Rajasthan on 31st March 2014. RPET Exam 2014 is annual examinations for admission in Engineering Colleges across Rajasthan. RPET Exam 2013 will be conducted on 21st May 2014 (Wednesday) from 09.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon at the centers in the following cities : Ajmer, Alwar, Banswara, Barmer, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Churu, Hindaun City, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Kota, Pilani,Sikar, Sirohi, Sri Ganganagar, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk and Udaipur.  Board of Technical Education, Jodhpur Rajasthan issued Official Notification of Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test (RPET) - 2014 for admission to first year of undergraduate programmes leading to Bachelor’s degree in different disciplines of Engineering (B.Tech. / B.E.) in various Govt. aided and Private unaided technical institutions of Rajasthan (except BITS Pilani, MNIT Jaipur and other Deemed & Private Universities) for the session 2014-2015. 
Educational Qualification: (i) The minimum academic qualification for admission to B.Tech./B.E. program in Rajasthan is a pass with  atleast 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to “SC/ST/ Non Creamy Layer OBC/ Non Creamy Layer SBC” of Rajasthan state) in the subjects combination as given below taken together, in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) of Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or any other examination recognized equivalent thereto by Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan/ Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
(ii) Subject combination required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech. / B.E course shall be as under: Compulsory Subjects:  Physics and Mathematics, Any one of the Optional Subjects:  (1) Chemistry (2) Bio-technology (3) Computer Science (4) Biology. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination (10+2) in 2014 may also apply.
Age Limit:  Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1989 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e.SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1984 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education mark sheet / certificate only will be taken as authentic. 
Exam Pattern: RPET-2014 shall consist of single examination of three hours duration containing 40 objective type questions in each subject i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total no. of questions will be 120 carrying one mark each. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer. The questions in the test booklet will be both in Hindi as well as in English.

After submission of  online Application form, candidates need to take print out of system generated Application form and then Attach all required documents as mention in checklist given in General Instructions .
