UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2013 Notification UPSC CSP 04/2013

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi issued Examination Notie No 04/2013 CSP date 5th March 2013.  Candidates should Note that their are certain changes in the scheme of Civil Services (MAIN) Examination which have been elucidated/ changed in the scheme of Examinations. There are some changes also in regard to the choice of lanuage medium in the Civil Services (Main) Examinationa.

UPSC Civil Services Exam New Patter 2013
Qualification: Gruadate from recognized university.
Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2013, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1983 and not later than 1st August, 1992. The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxed as per norms.
Application Fee: Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/PH Candidates who are exempted from pay- ment of fee) are required to pay fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees Hundred only) either by re- mitting the money in any Branch of SBI by Cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/ State Bank of Bikaner& Jaipur/Sate Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala /State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card 
How to Apply: candidates are required to apply Online by using the website http:// www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above- mentioned website. Brief Instructions for filling up the "Online Application Form" given in Appendix-II. The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e- Admission Certificate will be made available in the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in] for downloading by candidates. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post.

UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam New Pattern: Union Public Service Commission notified The Civil Services Examination 2013 advertisement. UPSC has changed the Examination pattern for Civil Services Prelims (CSP) Examination from 2013. However mains examination of both the services will be conducted separately. In Civil Services mains Examination 2013 instead of two optional papers, now student will opt only one optional paper. Weight-age of General Study has been increased.

Section 2 English Comprehension & English Précis 100 Marks (Of Matriculation/ Xth standard level)
Paper-II
General Studies–I 250Marks (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society)
Paper-III
General Studies –II: 250 Marks
(Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations)
Paper-IV
General Studies –III 250 Marks (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management)
Paper-V
General Studies –IV 250 Marks (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude)
Paper-VI
Optional Subject – Paper 1 250 Marks
Paper-VII
Optional Subject – Paper 2 250 Marks

{Candidates may choose any optional subject from amongst the list of subjects given in para 2 below (Group 1). However, a candidate can opt for the literatures of a language, indicated in Group-2 below para 2, as an optional subject, only if the candidate has graduated in the literature of that particular language as the main subject}. NOTE: (i) Marks obtained by the candidates for all papers (Paper I-VII) will be counted for merit ranking. However, the Commission will have the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all papers of the examination.

Download Civil Services 2012 Admit Card

IAS Pre 2012 Admit Card: Union Public Service Commission will be conducting the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2012 on 20/05/2012 (Sunday) all over India.  The Commission has uploaded the e-Admission Certificate for the convenience of the admitted candidates (or the reasons/ grounds for rejection of application in respect of rejected applications) on its website (http://www.upsc.gov.in.). 
The candidates are advised to download their e-Admission Certificate and take a printout thereof. The admitted candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-Admission Certificate at the allotted venue for appearing in the examination.  In case the photograph is not visible or available on the e-Admission Certificate, candidates are advised to carry two (2) identical photographs (one photograph for each session) along with proof of Identity such as Identity Card or Voter Identity Card or Passport or Driving License and the printout of e-Admission Certificate at the venue of the Examination. No paper Admission Certificate will be issued for this examination.

UPSC IAS Pre Exam 2011 result declared

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the result of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2011 held on 12.06.2011. The candidature of the qualified candidates is provisional. In accordance with the Rules of the Examination, all these candidates have to apply again in the Detailed Application Form (DAF), which is available on the website of the Union Public Service Commission http://www.upsc.gov.in/ All the qualified candidates are advised to fill up the DAF and submit the same ONLINE for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2011 to be held from 29.10.2011.
Union Public Service Commission have a Facilitation Counter near the Examination Hall Building in its Campus. Candidates may obtain any information/clarification regarding their result of the above mentioned examination on all working days between 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM, in person or on Tel. No. 011-23385271, 011-23098543 or 011-23381125 from this Facilitation Counter. Candidates can also obtain information regarding their result by accessing Union Public Service Commission Website http://www.upsc.gov.in/

UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC), Applications are invited in prescribed form from Indian nationals for filling up the following positions at UPSC :

Age : Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 01/08/2011. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
Qualification: Degree of a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice.
Application Fee: Rs.100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST/PH/Female candidates are exempted from payment (OBC candidates required to pay full fee) for the candidates applying offline. Those who are applying Online need to deposit Rs.50/- in any branch of SBI.

CSAT to replace IAS Pre Exam 201

The government will soon come out with a detailed syllabus of the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) — a new scheme of examination, which is to replace the existing Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination from 2011. The test is meant for shortlisting candidates for the CS (Main) Examination, being conducted every year to recruit officers in IAS, IFS, IPS and other elite central services.
The Centre had in March approved the proposal for introduction of CSAT in place of CS (Preliminary) from next year, and subsequently asked the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to work out its syllabus
