- RIL to acquire control in Network 18 for Rs 4,000 crore: Reliance Industries will take control of popular television news channels CNN-IBN, IBN7, CNBC-TV18 and Lokmat, and an entire clutch of ETV channels with a massive infusion of Rs. 4,000 crore into Network 18 Media and TV18 Broadcast Ltd.
- Government abolishes all GoMs and EGoMs for greater accountability and empowerment: In a major move to empower the Ministries and Departments, the Prime Minister today decided to abolish all the existing nine Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoMs) and twenty-one Groups of Ministers (GoMs). This would expedite the process of decision making and usher in greater accountability in the system. 
- “Say No To Tobacco” - PM’s message on 'World No Tobacco Day':  The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has appealed to the people of India to “Say No To Tobacco”. The Prime Minister tweeted: “On World No Tobacco Day, lets pledge to spread awareness on the risks of tobacco consumption & work to reduce tobacco consumption in India. 
- Telangana to be 29th state as President's rule to be revoked: In a historic event marking culmination of the long-drawn-out process of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao will assume the office as first Chief Minister of Telangana which becomes 29th state of the country on Monday.  
- Camel is new state animal of rajasthan as per decision by rajashtan government on 30th June 2014.
